For even more action and fun in the snow, the ski areas a little further away are also suitable. Winterberg with its ski lift carousel is particularly recommended. The skiing area in the Rothaargebirge is one of the most popular in the whole of Germany and has almost 27.5 kilometres of groomed slopes. Winterberg is mainly home to easy and intermediate slopes. For the more demanding athletes, there is the slalom slope, north of the Alps. This is the steepest slope in the entire ski area. Winterberg is known for its regular World Cup races in bobsleigh and luge. Younger winter sports enthusiasts can let off steam on seven practice lifts and in three children's areas.

The physical well-being is also taken care of - ski huts, restaurants and umbrella bars invite you to an après-ski party and delicious gastronomy. But that was not all! Around 50 km of winter hiking trails and 50 km of groomed trails for cross-country skiers make this a fantastic holiday. Pleasure in the evening is spread by the illuminated night skiing facility.

In addition, skiing enthusiasts also romp about in the Postwiesen ski village or Bödefeld-Hunau with an altitude range of 603 - 800 metres. The latter has the longest floodlit slope in the Sauerland and is equipped with 14 snow cannons, a separate toboggan slope and 5 lifts.

The Sauerland is truly a winter sports paradise! Not enough choice yet? Other sought-after ski areas include the Wildewiese, the Sternrodt ski centre, the Schmallenberger Höhe and the Hesselbacher Gletscher Bad Laasphe.
